About this guy
Braxton Moore (dumb name) aka BeeMo was born around 1980-something, and raised on a slow dopamine drip of Pokemon, N64, DnD, and Heavy Metal Magazine, in a house adorned with Alphonse Mucha and his mom and dad’s artwork. Most of it being pinup… go figure.
I’ll be honest, from here it’s the usual story of “picked up a pencil and drew cartoons in class” leading to a career in comics and design and blah blah blah… Honestly, this guy’s kinda boring.
I still gotta keep writing about him though, huh? You sure? You could just go binge watch Big Bang Theory again. No? Ugh… okay you got it.
I guess the most interesting part of this guy’s life was when he had a nervous breakdown and gave up art and creating entirely. Yeah, that happened. One night he just couldn’t decide what spoon was “safe” to use — whatever that meant — and the OCD switch flicked on. whatever he went near or decided to work on would become tainted with whatever horrible intrusive thought that came in. It got stressful. Anytime he’d pick up that aforementioned pencil he’d shut down to preserve what little he thought of himself. What a baby.
This behavior went on for next couple of years. The yearning to make things bubbled constantly and incessantly, until one day little Bee here picked up a copy of Chris Sanders’ Sketchbook 1. Abound with little cartoon animals and creatures of which to make a kind of fuel for nightmares and such, it was the bulk of this book that eased his ever-panicked state. BeeMo had decided. He would be a pinup artist! Gasp!
Since this little book encounter, Bee has put almost all of his energy into constantly pushing what pinup could be. Mixing many other influences into that Sanders base. Throwing in heaping spoonfuls of EPHK, Bao Pham, Jamie Hewlett, while snorting a great deal of cyberpunk and Studio Ghibli. All the while, maintaining his pinup subjects as being there for themselves, not for us. We are just getting glimpses into the obscura of demon women, anthro girls, and prophetic heroine of the flame that jump around in his brain map.
These days he self publishes sketchbooks, artbooks, and soon his solely created comic books. Amongst other endeavors that can be found on this very internet website, right here on the world wide web!
One last thing about this guy is that he can talk. Like, he never shuts the F*** up! So, if you’re brave enough to put a dime in that jukebox, you can always see him in person at LA Comic Con and WonderCon! We’re sure he’d be more than willing to chat it up with you about whatever you ask.
